1. Automation: a prerequisite for efficiency and a guarantee of savings

2. Blinds and roller blinds as a source of heat (in winter)    

Even internal window coverings allow for passive heat gain during the transitional season and in winter.   

  • Internal, dark, light-absorbing pleated blinds and roller blinds heat up when exposed to sunlight and transfer heat into the room through radiation and convection.  
  • In large, glass-fronted buildings on sunny days, this type of window shading means you can do without any additional heating altogether.
  • When left down overnight, thermal-insulating external roller blinds retain the heat accumulated during the day for longer.
 

3. Preventing overheating (in summer)

Modern, well-insulated windows can easily cause rooms to overheat in summer, as they trap heat inside.   

  • Automated shading systems, including external ones, can affect the maximum temperature inside a room.
  • The use of external coverings, particularly thermal roller shutters, creates an additional protective barrier (when the curtain is lowered, an air cushion forms between the glass and the cover, acting as an extra insulator).
